2nd meet of the Season – No Better than the 1st!
After about a one hour rain delay, the meet finally got underway. We skipped the Medly Relay hoping to get all the stroke events swam. Short free went just fine, followed by the 100IM. Then lots of kids swam the breast stroke. And then it started misting, then sprinkling. We skipped the Long Free, again hoping we could get in the individual strokes. Back stroke was up next, and everyone swam that in the rain. And the 8 and Unders did their Butterfly. The 9/10’s were on the Blocks, when some parents heard it – the rumble of thunder. The meet came to a quick stop, and a meeting was held at the Starter’s Stand with coaches, meet directors, referee’s and lifeguards. The kids would be out of the water for at least 20-30 minutes. It was pouring rain. The kids were freezing and miserable. The parents were dripping wet and miserable. The decision was quickly reached to call the meet.

We will try for a full meet this Thursday, June 16 at 5:30pm at Holly Tree pool. If we are not able to swim all the events due to weather, we have a make-up date of Monday, June 20.
